UniSA Health offers Nurse Practitioner services across all locations
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a Registered Nurse with the experience, expertise, and authority to diagnose and treat people of all ages with a variety of acute or chronic health conditions. NPs have completed additional university study at master’s degree level and are the most senior and independent clinical nurses in our health care system. The title “Nurse Practitioner” can only be used by a person who are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
What can I see a Nurse Practitioner for?
- General health check-ups and health management including hypertension
- Common colds
- Chronic illness including diabetes, arthritis.
- Women’s health issues
- Provide prescriptions and access to PBS medicines
- Referrals to hospitals and specialists
- Order x-rays and other diagnostic tests.
How to see a Nurse Practitioner?
No referral is necessary
Appointments are bulk-billed.
