Casual Nurse, Multiple locations

UniSA Health Medical Clinics provide exceptional medical and healthcare to UniSA students and staff and the general public.

We have an exciting opportunity for new Casual Nurses to join our Practice team. The successful applicants will need to have flexibility and willingness to work across our three practice locations including a brand-new clinic at Elizabeth (opposite the Lyell McEwin Hospital) and our city locations in the heart of the vibrant Adelaide CBD University precinct at City East and City West Campus.

This position must be able to travel offsite to Magill and Mawson Lakes campus’ for flu vaccination clinics during the months of April – June.

This is initially a casual position with the view to permanency for the right applicants.

An integral part of the Practice team, the Practice Nurse provides the highest possible level of patient care and support to the Doctors, Practice Manager and other members of the clinic team.

Qualifications

  • AHPRA Registered or Enrolled Nurse


Key responsibilities 

  • Effective and efficient communication skills in telephone and face to face contact including the capacity to communicate in an empathetic manner
  • Capacity to extract information and triage patient calls and attendance as required
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to undertake and prioritise multiple tasks accurately and efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of a team including capacity and willingness to work extra time as required
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision to complete required tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to patient health information
  • Ability to operate medical software or capacity to learn quickly, not limited to administrative tasks


Knowledge and Experience preferred but not essential:

  • Working within a medical environment preferred but not essential.
  • Using Medical software systems (Best Practice) or similar patient administration.
  • Working in patient care.
  • Experience working in a university setting
  • Multi-lingual
  • Experience working within General Practice


Special Conditions

  • Must be available Monday to Friday 8am-6pm
  • Flexibility in location of work – including offsite flu clinics within other UniSA campus’s (during flu season only)
  • A commitment to continuous personal development including attendance at regular staff meetings as required
  • Attendance at personal development programs provided by the Practice
  • Immunisation Course
